Delicate In White & Green

For many the arrival of spring can be heralded by the delicate swathes of snowdrops that begin to gently carpet the surrounding verges of roads and borders of gardens, and this is no different for myself. As soon as I notice the first few dainty snowdrops I know that spring isn’t too far away, and they are a welcome sight on a frosty morning. That was the inspiration for this quick watercolour for this week’s creative post. I wanted to try and capture the delicate hints of green on the petals and pretty, almost fairy like shape of the flower itself.

I am slowly getting back into the swing of things, but I have had a slow start to the year so the arrival of spring cannot come quick enough for me. I feel like I always regain some energy when the winter finally draws to a close. This post was due to go up yesterday, but I’ve got a virus at the moment hence the delay! I wanted to say thank you as well for all of the lovely comments I have been left on my recent posts, I know I am very behind with replying, but I see and read them all and they always make me smile, so thank you so much, I really appreciate your kind words.

Hope you are all well!

Thank you so much Kel. ❤ That means a lot! I feel like the snowdrops have come out quite early here this year, but our weather has been a little all over the place. Hope you've spotted some by now!

Thanks for dropping by my blog, Natasha. Good to hear from you again. Snowdrops are just starting to appear here now, crocuses cannot be far behind and spring in all its glory will be here.

You’re more than welcome! I love your photos. I am hoping it’s the same for us here too. I haven’t spotted any crocuses yet but they can’t be far off!

I did survive! 😀 I’m glad this was a nice reminder for you too. I love seeing the flowers springing up (pardon the pun) around this time of year. Hopefully the weather will slowly warm now and it won’t be too long before spring is truly here. ❤

Hi Natasha, was lovely to hear from you. I have a feeling you look forward to spring as much as I look forward to autumn. Sorry to hear that you’ve picked up a virus, so many bugs around at change of season time. Love your delicate snowdrop and funny you should mention Tim Burton when you saw the black and white sculpture, Aimee said straight away it made her think of Beetle Juice 😀
