It feels like it has been an age since I last sat down to paint, take photos and type out a blog post, and for that I am very sorry! I want to thank everyone for being so patient with me here, but after the rush of Christmas and the New Year starting I decided to take an extended break for a month to just allow myself to properly relax and focus on general life things going on in the background, but I am back and ready to properly get into the swing of things once more!
With this in mind when I sat down, paintbrush in hand, I knew I wanted to do something which would give me that New Year feeling of starting again, feeling fresh and looking ahead to new adventures. I’ve been looking at a lot of photography at the moment featuring mountainscapes, and I especially love photos where they’ve been able to capture a sunrise, which was the inspiration for my quick watercolour sketch above. With a wash of blue to create a pale sky, dashes of black among pale mountains to create snow flecked peaks and a hint of gold on the central peak, I tried to capture a sunrise over the Himalayas, and it’s got me feeling ready to tackle 2018 with renewed vitality, and I hope the same for all of you too!
Hope you’re all doing well, I will be replying to comments and having a proper sit down to catch up on all of your posts throughout the week ahead.
