Scenes of Summer

Over the past week the UK has been bathing in a gorgeous but sweltering heatwave. Up here in the Lake District the humidity in the air created near rainforest conditions, especially up in the forested areas near Whinlatter and Dodd Wood, while along the coastline it’s been bright sunshine and blue skies with just the hint of a coastal breeze. People have been flocking to the beach and hiking the trails to soak up the sunshine, and it’s been brilliant for me as I’ve been doing 30 Days Wild as the sun seems to have coaxed out all of the wildlife and plantlife, so that’s been a real plus!

With that in mind, I wanted to share some photos of the recent summery weather around the Lakes over the past couple of weeks and let them speak for themselves as I think these photos encapsulate what we’ve been basking in this past fortnight, and while it has been exceptionally hot and I know people have been sweltering, it has been gorgeous.

Awww, I hope you managed to soak up some of the sun before it went at least. I’m hoping it returns soon, the summer’s only just begun in my mind so fingers crossed! Thank you for all of the lovely comments. ❤
